Guide to Fabric sizes

Fat Quarter? What's that?

A fat quarter is a piece of fabric that usually measures 56cm wide x 50cm long. To get a fat quarter i first cut half a metre of fabric from the bolt. I then cut half a metre down the middle to produce two equal sized rectangular pieces of fabric measuring 56cm wide x 50cm long.

The width can vary a little depending on the length of the bolt (the cardboard tube that the fabric is wrapped around) 50cm by 56cm is the smallest fat quarter you will get. Some of the fabric I stock has a width of up to 160cm which gives you a very large fat quarter of 50cm by 80cm. The width of the fabric is stated in every product descriptions.

I want a larger piece of fabric!

Don't worry if you want a larger piece of fabric just order multiple fat quarters or you can order my fabric my the meter or had meter.

I want one large piece of fabric

Unless you say in the ordering notes, when you order multiple quantities I will always send you your fabric in one continuous piece.
